Making a minute of sport a day would have surprising effects

From fitness to running to yoga, the sport has become a real trend, and it falls rather well since moving makes it possible to keep fit while sculpting a body of hottie. And if we were taught to sweat for at least 30 minutes to see the results appear, a recent study estimates that one minute of sports a day would already have very beneficial effects on our health.

As reported by The Independent, the universities of Exeter and Leicester have partnered to conduct research on the correlation between sport and osteoporosis. By studying 2,500 women, they discovered that those who practiced high intensity training for 1 to 1.30 minutes saw their bone density improve by 4% over others. Those who lifted weights for at least 2 minutes saw their bone quality improve by 6%.Osteoporosis, which is characterized by fragile bones and predisposition to fractures, affects one-tenth of women aged 60 years and older according to the International Foundation for Osteoporosis. One in three women and one in five men aged 50 and over will suffer a fracture related to osteoporosis in their lives. To prevent bone resistance from deteriorating, people who are aging are often advised to rely heavily on calcium. Asked recently by Marie Claire, Professor Bernard Cortet, a rheumatologist at the University Hospital of Lille and chairman of the Osteoporosis Research and Information Group, said that a woman must consume at least 900 mg of calcium per day. For a postmenopausal woman, it takes 1200 mg. Vitamin D is also important, the doctor advises to expose to the sun avoiding the hottest hours. In terms of physical activity, scientists point out that research needs to be deepened to find out how to put it into practice. Dr. Victoria Stiles, the study's author, said: "We do not yet know if it is better to take 1 to 2 minutes of exercise a day or if it is better to do Longer exercises on one or two days a week ". And conclude: "There is a clear link between high intensity weight surveys and better bone health in women." What make us want to put on a legging and a pair of sneakers!
